ShopBolt was started in 2021 by two friends who got tired of buying clothes that fell apart in six months — and homewares that didn't match anything in their actual home.
Why does a well-made linen shirt cost $400 at a department store — but its identical twin from the same factory in Porto costs $32 wholesale?
The answer, of course, is layers: brand markup, distributor markup, retail markup. Each step adds nothing to the product itself.
ShopBolt skips the layers. We work directly with two small factories. We design in-house, manufacture in small batches, ship directly to you. The math, finally, makes sense.
Six designers. No outsourcing. Every stitch decided in our studio.
Busan and Porto. We visit quarterly. Every worker earns a living wage.
Every order ships carbon-negative via Pachama-verified offsets.
All returned items are cleaned and donated through The Apparel Trust.
Sara spent eight years buying apparel for a Korean department store chain. Jin-ho spent six years running operations at a furniture brand. They met at a coffee shop in 2020 and started ShopBolt with $40,000 between them.
